After college, he worked as a research analyst at Tiger Management, a hedge fund run by Julian Robertson. In 2001, he and fellow Tiger Management employee, Scott Shleifer, founded Tiger Global Management.

Tiger Global is a global investment firm that focuses on private equity, venture capital, and public equity investments. The firm has invested in companies such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Yahoo! As of March 2019, Tiger Global has $23 billion in assets under management.

Muni Long was born in San Francisco, California, on August 8, 1966. Her father was a Chinese immigrant who owned a laundry business, and her mother was a homemaker. Long grew up in the Sunset District of San Francisco and attended Lowell High School. She then went on to attend the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.

After college, Long worked as an investment banker for several years before she decided to pursue a career in law. She attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1992.

Career

Muni Long’s career in the financial industry began in the early 1990s. She worked as an analyst at a number of firms before moving to Merrill Lynch in 1997. At Merrill Lynch, she was responsible for the firm’s coverage of the media and entertainment industries.

In 2001, Long left Merrill Lynch to join Lehman Brothers. At Lehman Brothers, she was a managing director and head of the media and entertainment investment banking group. She also served on the firm’s board of directors.

Long left Lehman Brothers in 2008, prior to its collapse. She then joined Evercore Partners, where she served as a managing director and head of the media and entertainment group. She left Evercore in 2011 to join Greenhill & Co., where she is currently a managing director and head of the media and entertainment group.
